The Department of Analytical Chemistry is founded in 1948 by Prof. Boris Zagorchev. Since then various courses have been developed and the students taught in the department have the opportunity to obtain bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees in chemistry and engineering. The “Analytica” course allows the students to further improve their skills and knowledge. Some of ours lecturers are the active members of the Center for French and German Language Education. The scientific laboratories, e.g. labs of wet analysis, the specialized labs of instrumental methods are available for students research activities.

The main fields of scientific research at our department are the analysis of high-tech products, ecological monitoring, enzyme electrodes and bioreactors.
