Paid education

Information Technologies

This is a new and very fast-developing sphere in science, technology and practice.

The curriculum is made on idea of making European Union of community of information society based on knowledge.

Elected parts from Numerical Methods and Statistics, some modern programming languages, computer graphics, operation systems, etc. are put in it.

Special attention is given to the management of information networks, administration of network, communications, etc.

There are some specializing courses such as Models and Structure of Data, Systems on Knowledge, Internet, Multimedia, etc.

Graduates can realize themselves in industry, maintenance, trade and state administration. They can apply for postgraduate programs.

Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development

This program is based on the European MS course on Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development has been held in UCTM since 1991 as a part of TEMPUS projects.

The Center of Ecology is responsible for the program and organizes the education due to the European requirements with the help of teaching staff not only from UCTM, but also Academy of Economy “D.Tzenov”, University of London, King University in Belfast and Free University in Brussels.

Students are trained 4 semesters in 8 modules. There is an exam and diploma defense before an international committee.

Some of the courses are in English

Graduates receive MS diploma issued by two Bulgarian and two European Universities.

Production Safety

There are many negative factors in chemistry and metallurgy environment such as potential danger of explosion, fires, accidents, etc. That means significant flowing of considerable quality of toxic compounds quantities in working and living environment.

One of the main responsibilities of company’s governing and executive body as well as the engineering staff is to create support and develop safety and healthy working conditions.

This program involves subjects that give the neccessary knowledge for substance’s toxicity and aggressiveness; about combustion of substances and the danger of explosions and fires; about methods of control on working conditions, etc.

In all industrial countries this activity is a strongly legalized part from the processing process and specially trained persons carry it out.

That means a good practical and scientific realization for such a specialists.

Graduates are stimulated to develop themselves by increasing their scientific qualification in Doctor’s programs, too.

Nanotechnologies and Nanomaterials

This program gives very new knowledge and ideas in the field that is to make a new vast influence on the development of science, education, protection efficiency, as well as in social life and ecology.

Nano-structural materials and technologies will stimulate development of new interdisciplinary educational and science programs in leading universities all over the world.

The program aims at preparing highly qualified engineers in this area. The curriculum involves subjects that give knowledge on structure, methods of investigation, description and qualification of nano materials. The role of scale factor on optical, electrical-magnet and reological properties is analyzed.

Special attention is paid to the high temperature synthesis methods as plasma-chemical, laser, electron-beam ion, pyrolysis, co-sedimentation, micro emulsion, mechanic-chemistry, etc.

Typical application as catalysers, filters, adsorbents, non-linear optical devices, microcomputers, bio-micro machines, combustion cells, batteries, etc. are discussed.

Graduates can realize themselves at all levels of science, industry and education, as well as to continue their education.

Metrology

The program responses to the growing necessities of metrological specialists in our country.

It is very important in accordance with the European standards and increased requirements to quality management of various material productions as dielectrics, metals, semiconductors, magnets, etc.

Students are trained in theoretical, normative and legislative bases of metrology, standardization and certification.

They study theory and practice of materials characterizations according to their electrical and non-electrical parameters, as well as determination of their chemical composition.

The University offers Doctor’s program in metrology, characterization and measurement of material parameters.
