Foreign students
All information concerning foreign students can be found

Students and Education in Foreign Languages.
University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy admits
international students for full and part-time education to
all available Bachelor, Master and PhD study programmes. Issues
connected to the admission, study and administration of international
students are arranged by the Bulgarian Higher Educational
Act as well as the Study Regulation of UCTM.
1. General Admission Requirements
All applicants must have a diploma for completed secondary
(high) education
Foreign citizens can apply for study at UCTM connected
to:
- Intergovernmental international agreement for educational,
scientific and cultural exchange;
- Council of Ministers Decree;
- Paid education.
2. Tuition fee
Annual Tuition are subject to change according to the Council
of Ministers Decree.
For the 2007/2008 academic year they are:
Bachelor’s programs
Full-time students 2400 euro
Full-time students from ex-Yugoslavia,
financed by DAAD through Stability Pact 1500 euro
Part-time students 1200 euro
Master’s programs
Full-time students 3000 euro
Doctoral programs and Specializations
Full-time students 3500 euro
Part-time students 1000 euro
Note:
Students with a dual citizenship, one of which is
Bulgarian pay 50 % of the fixed tuition fee.
3. Required documents for applying to UCTM admission:
1. Application form (after a pattern) to the Rector of
UCTM for admitting to a particular program ,accompanied
by a short CV. (download)
2. Legalized copy of the high (secondary) school diploma
in the original language.
3. Legalized translation (in Bulgarian or English) of the
high (secondary) school diploma
4. Medical certificate issued one month prior to applying.
This certificate should be translated in English or Bulgarian
5. Copy of the identity card
6. 3 recent photos (3x4 cm)
Notes:
1. Documents specified in p. 2 and 3 should be legalized
by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin and legalized
by the Consular Department of the Embassy of the Republic
of Bulgaria there.
2. Legalization of the medical certificate (p.4) should
be done by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs Affairs of the country of origin and legalized by
the Consular Department of the Embassy of the Republic of
Bulgaria there.
3. For the citizens of the Republic of Turkey the legalization
of documents specified in p.2,3 qnd 4 can be done by the
Governor’s certification.
Application deadline is 1 September.
4. Information on prep school
Preparatory course in Bulgarian language is offered by
the Institute of Foreign Students,
Sofia, Bulgaria. The course is optional for those applicants
who are fluent in Bulgarian.
The annual fee of prep school is 2500 euro.
5 Date of Enrollment
10 September – for the preparatory course in Bulgarian
10 September – for study programs at UCTM in case
students are fluent in the language of instruction ( Bulgarian
or German and French depending on the proposed admission).
For this purpose a preliminary language test should be covered
in order to prove the linguistic communication and learning
skills .
6. Academic Year
For prep school in Bulgarian language – Academic
year starts on 15 September and ends in June
For study programs at UCTM – Academic year starts
15 September and ends in June
7. Living Conditions
Student dormitory rooms are available at a price of 45
euro. Average cost of living is about 100 euro per month.
