Center of ECOLOGY

The Center of Ecology was created in 1990 by a decision of Academic Council of UCTM. It organizes and puts into practice the Bachelor of Science program Engineering Ecology and Environmental Protection.

The Center of Ecology fulfils scientific and expert actions too. It has a rich library with specialized books and manuals, well-equipped laboratories, computers with
software for simulation of pollution distribution.

The Center has a license from the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Waters to train experts in Evaluation of Influence on Environment.

It organizes and realizes European Master of Science program on Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development in cooperation with universities from England, Belgium, Italy, Greece, etc.

This is an educational center that organizes and administrates the educational Master of Science program Industrial Chemistry in French.

The Center was created in 1992 by decision of the Academic Council and by a convention between the University and theAgency of French-speaking Universities (AUF).

It takes an active part in all program of AUF such as:
  • Long-term students exchange (CIME);
  • Short-term students exchange (BUF)’
  • Financing education of Bulgarian students in post-graduate programs in France;
  • Participation in European educational programs.
The Center has close connection and cooperation with AUF, as well as with the Cultural Service in the French Embassy in Sofia within the frame of the contract for cooperation with UCTM.

This Center was founded in 1997 within the frame of the European Project TEMPUS. It has modern computer laboratories and installations modern software for management of quality.

There is full-time and part-time education on Master of Science program in Management of Quality. Until now there are more than 40 graduates in this program.

The following subjects are studied: Information Technologies, Statistics, Management of Quality, Economics of Quality, Statistical Management of Processes, Planning of Experiments, Reliability Optimisation, Robastic Engineering Design, Standards for Quality Systems, etc.

The education can be held in Bulgarian or in English at choice.

The Center of European Quality offers short-term courses on elected subject from the Master’s program as well as courses on selected subjects.

The Center attends to educational, scientific and administrative activity:
  • Realizes support and develops information-inquiry systems for management of University;
  • Administration, support and development of the University network and its connection with national academic network and world networks;
  • Maintenance and prophylaxis of local computer network devices and servers;
  • Pre-print preparation of all printed matters according to the University publishing program;
  • Realizes and develops new information technologies;
  • Supports Internet laboratories for students.

The Central research laboratory was created in 1961.
This is a specialized group that analyses and investigates scientifically the organic and inorganic analysis using modern instrumental and chemical analytical methods.
It supports education and science as well as service analyses.
